Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, in Afghanistan has manifested itself as one of the most innovating and life changing platforms for youths to express their opinions an also it is an educational simulation or academic activity in which youths can lea about diplomacy, inteational relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and enhance participants teaching skills, debating skills, and in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
Participants in Model United Nations conferences, known as delegates, are placed in committees and assigned countries to represent, or occasionally other organizations or political figures, where they represent members of that body. They are presented with their assignments in advance, along with a topic or topics that their committee will discuss. Delegates conduct research before conferences and formulate positions that they will then debate with their fellow delegates in the committee, staying true to the actual position of the member they represent. At the end of the conference, the best-performing delegates in each committee, as well as delegations, are sometimes recognized with awards.
Model UN participants include students at high school and college/university levels, with most conferences catering to just one of these two levels (high school and college conferences being most common. Delegates usually attend conferences together as delegations. - The influence of Model United Nations is such that its participants can prepare themselves immensely for the challenges of the future. The Afghanistan Youth Civil Society Association have plan to arrange Parwan MUN (PMUN) in 21 of Feb 2020 in Parwan, the objectives of the mention PMUN are to bring young female and male individuals together to discuss global issues and promote diplomacy, human rights, peace building, and social welfare. Participants include university students up to the age of 30. They are supposed to come from all over Afghanistan and around 300 delegates will participate in the inaugural event of PMUN; to develop critical thinking and public speaking skills. Applications will be opened on 1st of December, 2019.
